Sleevefacing

Sweeping the internet? Maybe not, but a rather silly video none the less.

“Sleevefacing” = Posing for a photo with part of your body obscured by a LP jacket, blurring the lines between reality and um…well, no it’s not that fancy.

Playing the Building

David Byrne has created a sound installation in NYC’s Battery Maritime Building, where he uses the building itself to create music.

Watch the video to see how it works, and hear Byrne’s explanation of “democratizing” music performance through this experience.

Sea Organ

Designed in 2005 by Nikola Basic, the Sea Organ is an architectural experiment in music.  Located in Croatia, the Sea Organ is a series of large marble steps hiding 35 tuned tubes located in the sea.  When the sea moves back and forth, air is pushed through the tubes, and sound is sent up through holes in the steps.
