This is a hands on/tear-down for the new album by P.O.S., a minneapolis based hip-hop artist. This is one of the coolest packaging experiances I have seen in the cd world in quite (maybe since Radiohead’s “In Rainbows” hard copy realese).

Kutiman, an Isreali musician, has made an album entirley from mashing up youtube clips!

Pitchfork Redesign/Ipod Touch Ad
Published March 9, 2009 Graphics / Illustrations , Music Leave a Comment
I hopped over to pitchfork this morning, to get my daily dose of hipster-knowledge, and noticed two things:
1.The website has undergone a major redesign. As well, it appears they’ve finally managed to drop the clumsy word “media” from their url, and now it’s just a simple “pitchfork.com”. No more accidentally going to that weird realty website.
2.The main splash has a rather elaborate Ipod Touch ad. It’s pretty slick. But of course, it makes for some glitchy rollovers in it’s aftermath.
Maybe a beta sticker would’ve sufficed.

Sweeping the internet? Maybe not, but a rather silly video none the less.
“Sleevefacing” = Posing for a photo with part of your body obscured by a LP jacket, blurring the lines between reality and um…well, no it’s not that fancy.
David Byrne has created a sound installation in NYC’s Battery Maritime Building, where he uses the building itself to create music.
Watch the video to see how it works, and hear Byrne’s explanation of “democratizing” music performance through this experience.
